Rational Forge started with books. Our first software product is now here. RFCommand is a resource and file system manager for Windows, built to put you back in command of your files and of everywhere else you keep things.
It shows two panels side by side, so you can always see where a file is coming from and where it is going. What makes it different is what those panels can hold. A local drive, a network share, a zip file, a server, a cloud drive or a live database all open the same way, with the same keys, in the same window.
What it does
- → Two panels: source and target on screen together, so copying and moving is one key
- → Quick view: preview text, tables, images, video and audio, and folders too, without opening anything
- → One search: reaches your disks, your network, inside archives, your servers, your cloud drives and your databases
- → Cloud drives: OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox, browsed like any other folder
- → Databases: SQLite, SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL, where tables are folders and rows are files
- → Yours to shape: 47 rebindable actions, named layouts you switch between in one click, light and dark with twenty-four accents, and five languages
How to get it
RFCommand is available now as a free public beta on the Microsoft Store, which installs it and keeps it up to date. It is free to download and use, with every feature included.
A beta is where the problems that only show up on other computers, with other files and against other servers get found. If something goes wrong, or you want it to do something it does not, our issue tracker gives every report a number you can follow.
One thing we can promise now: RFCommand contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no telemetry. There is no account to create, and we run no server that receives your data from it.
